India with an area of over 121,000 km2 gathers 120+ national parks and 500+ wildlife sanctuaries. In 1973, the Indian government launched the Tiger Project to save the country’s threatened tiger species.
According to data from April 2019 in the whole country the tiger population reached 2,967 which represents 70% of the world’s tigers.
Instead, the state of Gujarat is home to over 674 Asiatic lions. Sasan Gir is the only Natural Park outside Africa where you can admire lions in their natural habitat in the park.
And again, leopards, monkeys, the unicorn rhino. It is the region where the lion’s territory borders that of the tiger, if you like. An area of unspoiled beauty.
Viaggindia brings you in close contact with the nature of India and their wild animals.
